Balsamic Whiskey Cream Sauce

Directions

  1. In a Ziploc bag or bowl, combine steak with coffee rub and sea salt. Mix well and let sit at room temperature for 10–20 minutes while preparing the sauce.
  2. Heat 2 Tbsp olive oil in a large sauté pan. Add onions, season with salt, and cook until soft and caramelized, about 10 minutes.
  3. Stir in the whiskey and balsamic vinegar, then add the heavy cream. Cook for another 1–2 minutes. Remove sauce from pan and keep warm.
  4. Add remaining 2 Tbsp olive oil to the pan. Once hot, sear the seasoned steak tips, turning to cook all sides, about 3–4 minutes total (3 minutes for medium-rare).
  5. Plate steak tips and top with the balsamic whiskey cream sauce. Garnish with sliced green onions and serve hot.
